TIMING UPDATED! The Discretion to Enforce (27 August 2019)
Contact SIArb Secretariat, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
About the Seminar:
National courts of New York Convention states are obliged to recognise and enforce an arbitral award if none of the grounds for refusal applies. But if a ground for refusal is established, does it follow that a court must refuse enforcement?
In this seminar, Amanda Lees will discuss recent case law, including Sanum Investments Limited v ST Group Co Ltd, from Singapore and Hong Kong providing guidance on the court’s residual discretion to enforce an award, even where such a ground has been made out. Christine Artero will present a comparative law perspective, looking at the position in other jurisdictions around the world.

Join us for free flow of wines, beers, soft drinks and food after the seminar!
