NEW DATE! WEBINAR: Crossing Continents: What Can Singapore and Switzerland Learn From Each Other? (13 January 2022)
Contact SIArb Secretariat, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
About this Webinar:

Whilst one is a tropical island and the other a landlocked alpine country, Singapore and Switzerland have much in common.  Not only are they both countries of less than 10 million people with 4 official languages and a red-and-white national flag, but they are well known for financial services, neutrality and, most importantly for our purposes, as two of the world’s leading centres for international arbitration.

In this webinar, our panel will compare aspects of arbitration law and practice in the two jurisdictions and ask what lessons Singapore and Switzerland can learn from each other to build on their success and how Singapore can maintain its attractiveness for cases governed by civil law systems.  Amongst other issues, our panel will discuss:

  • recent reforms in both countries;
  • conflicts of law and the governing law of the arbitration agreement;
  • jurisdiction and admissibility; and
  • public policy
Webinar Programme:

Webinar participants will be able to watch and listen to (via computer audio or telephone line) the video presentation and Q&A discussion on their screens, receive a PDF copy of the presentation slides, as well as participate in the Q&A discussion by sending in their questions to the moderator via text using the built-in Q&A function.
